Please read these terms before booking lessons with Rotherham Driving Academy.
These terms apply to all driving lessons, block bookings and intensive courses booked with Rotherham Driving Academy ("we", "us", "our"). By booking a lesson, you ("you", "the pupil") agree to these terms.
You must hold a valid UK provisional or full driving licence and produce it before your first lesson. You must meet the legal minimum age and eyesight requirements to drive, and must tell us about anything that could affect your ability to hold a licence or drive safely.
Lessons, block bookings and intensive courses are charged at the prices shown on our Pricing page at the time of booking. Payment is required in advance to secure your lesson slot. Block booking and intensive course prices apply only to the package booked.
We ask for at least 48 hours' notice to cancel or rearrange a lesson. Lessons cancelled with less notice, or missed without any notice, will be charged in full. If we need to cancel a lesson — for example due to instructor illness or a vehicle breakdown — we'll rearrange it at no extra cost as soon as reasonably possible.
The DVSA requires at least 3 clear working days' notice to cancel or change a driving test date — cancelling later than this may mean losing your DVSA test fee, which is separate from our fees. Whether you're ready to take your test is a judgement made by your instructor, and we don't accept responsibility for test outcomes or for tests cancelled or postponed by the DVSA. Where shown on our pricing, the £80 test day charge covers use of our dual-control vehicle for your test plus a warm-up lesson beforehand; this is included at no extra charge within our 20-hour and 30-hour intensive courses. You should only book your test once your instructor has advised that you're ready. If you book a test date and your instructor feels you are not yet ready, they reserve the right to refuse to take you to the test in their vehicle.
We ask all learners to treat instructors with respect. Abusive, threatening or unsafe behaviour will result in a lesson being ended immediately and may mean future lessons are refused. We're committed to treating every learner fairly and do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, gender, disability, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic.
All lessons take place in a fully insured, dual-control vehicle. In the rare event of a vehicle breakdown, we'll do our best to rearrange your lesson as quickly as possible.
While every reasonable care is taken during lessons, driving tuition carries inherent risk. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. We're not liable for losses arising from DVSA decisions, DVSA test cancellations, or delays outside our reasonable control.
Personal details you give us (such as your name, address, phone number and email) are used only to arrange and deliver your lessons, and are not shared with third parties except where required by law.
If you're unhappy with any aspect of your tuition, please contact us directly so we can put things right. If a complaint can't be resolved between us, you can also contact the DVSA.
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
